The story of American liberty begins, ironically enough, in the streets of London and the lush countryside of the British isles. The Founding Fathers of America did not come up with strange ideas about liberty and constitutional government in a vacuum; they drew upon a rich tradition of British and Scottish literature, political philosophy, and legend stretching back to Arthurian times.
This trip will give you the chance to live and experience this legacy. As we explore America's British cultural heritage, we'll be searching for the answers to two vital questions:
We will seek to answer these questions by visiting sites that embody the Legends of History and the Writers of Legends.

What does that mean? We're glad you asked. Simply put, many of the locations we will visit in London, rural England, and Wales will include the scenes of famous legends of British history, and the homes and haunts of the writers who wrote those legends to preserve them for the ages.
For the Legendary stops that means we will be going to Glastonberry where King Arthur and Queen Guinevere were buried, the battlefield where Alfred the Great defeated the Saxons, the War Rooms where Churchill built the resolve of the nation to never give in, and tour castles and other iconic historic sites.
For the Writers of Legends stops we will visit the sites familiar to Charles Dickens and William Shakespeare in London, Jane Austin in Winchester, and C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien in Oxford.
